Rumor Control for June 27, 2009
Drake Wins/Fronz Still Champ!
Drake Evans wins by DQ over "The Mighty" Fronz Roddy but doesn't win the title. Roddy was, of course, ecstatic at this turn, but Evans was quick to contact the IYFW Management about a rematch. We are waiting to get a confirmation on if and when that will take place. But Fronz Roddy will have no time to sit and relax because....
C.J. Scott is a winner!
The determination of this newcomer to the wrestling business paid off on Saturday night as he won the Coronation Cup Tournament by defeating the man who had proclaimed him the biggest loser in IYFW, The Northern Studd. Now C.J. has earned a shot at the In Your Face Wrestling Champion, Fronz Roddy, and that match will happen on July 18th when IYFW comes to Queensbury, NY for "New Wave Assault."
Tag Title in NY!
"Bombshell" Bert Williams was unable to compete on June 20th due to a rib injury he suffered in April. Because of this, "The Heat" Chris Pyro was a replacement to team up with "Loverboy" Ricky Williams against Scott Scarsdale and Al Jihad. The challengers thought that since Bert had not shown, they would win the titles by default, but the championship committee decided to postpone the title shot until Bert could compete. That match has been signed to happen on July 18th at "New Wave Assault."
World Class Women!
IYFW was proud to have the most decorated woman in Professional Wrestling today, MsChif, be a part of the Coronation Cup event. Her opponent, Alexxus, showed she was no slouch and came to fight. Although MsChif came out on top, Alexxus is looking to make her name in IYFW and will be in action on July 18th with another Shimmer Women's Athlete's star, "The Portuguese Princess" Ariel.
A Legend Returns!
The once Hardcore King of Vermont, Curtis Candy, came to watch the event with his kids, but became a part of the show when he was introduced as the partner for Maxx "The Ax" Burton against Good Lord Willing and Viper. Candy did not have any wrestling attire and had not been in a ring for over three years, but his heart showed no rust and he and Burton gained victory with his old finisher "The Punchline." Curtis got such a stoke of confidence from this match that he has told IYFW Officials, "the next show you guys get and I'm not busy, I will be looking for some action."
Did you know...
...that IYFW is the first promotion to bring an NWA World Champion (MsChif) to the Northeast in 5 years?
IYFW thanks the always alive and supportive fans for their support and we look forward to bringing IYFW to The Empire State on July 18th.
