Rumor Control for October 14, 2009
The Mighty title reign comes to a Dead End!
Drake Evans finally got the best of "The Mighty" Fronz Roddy in the Last Man Standing match at "Season 3: Rising Spirits of Madness." A 14 month title reign came down to one second when Evans to got his feet before Roddy at the count of 9. This marks what could be the end of the longest running feud in In Your Face Wrestling. We understand that the next day, IYFW officials were being inundated with emails and phone calls from IYFW wrestlers all wanting their shot at the title. Of course one of the first to make contact was Fronz Roddy. Will he get a rematch for the title?
The Beast gets Lynched!
After Pierre Vachon had pinned Guillaume deSade to win the Survival tag match, not only did "The Shaft" Bobby Ocean come out to help Guillaume beat down Vachon, but Ian Daniels came to help too. The three men left Pierre and walked off together. It looks like The Nubian Lynch Mob have taken on Daniels as a member in kind. I don’t know if going after "The Beast" was such a good idea.
New Tag Team formed
The IYFW Tag Team titles were to be defended on October 10th, but Al Jihad’s travel plans were not in order and he could not get to Ballston Spa. So Scott Scarsdale took on a new comer to IYFW, Etanna, as his partner. "Bombshell" Bert Williams was in need of a partner too and he chose Maxx "The Ax" Burton. Bert and Maxx showed great continuity and almost came out on top, but the "tag team wrestling expert" made good on his claim as Scarsdale got the win.
Fish & Shaft take it to the (time) limit!
"The Shaft" Bobby Ocean and "Big in Japan" Bobby Fish went to a 15 minute time limit draw, the first time this has happened in IYFW. Everyone in the IYFW office was confident both men would put on a solid effort, but no one believed the level they would take it to. Although no winner was declared, the audience showed tremendous adulation to both men. All was good until "The Shaft" showed his true colors and attacked Fish after a handshake. Fish was prepared to continue wrestling, but Shaft walked off. One thing is for sure, IYFW fans and official would love to see a rematch between these two men.
The IYFW Halloween Rumble
Where can you see Frankenstein, 2 pirates, a whoopee cushion and a 300+ lb pimp collide? This was certainly an entertaining match to say the least, showing that yes we are In Your Face but we can also be fun too. Maybe we might see more fun matches like this in IYFW.
The 2nd Anniversary show also showcased some new talent to IYFW. We have already talked about Etanna and Bobby Fish, but we also saw the debuts of WAR and Scott Reed, proving once again that IYFW is always on the hunt for new talent to keep our events fresh.
IYFW is now slated to return to the Ballston Spa Community Center on December 12, 2009!
